1977 Fran Freakin' Healy...

I need Fran Healy to complete my 1977 Yankees set on the registry. I saw this mildly difficult card surface on eBay and thought "Oooh, let's have a look". I noticed that the centering is terrible and decided I would continue looking for a copy suitable for my collection, unless the card would go for below 60 bucks--at which point the cert # might be worthwhile to me (last card I need)...well...
338.00 with an hour to go! My buddy "girlmaverick" and it's THIRTY (30) bid retractions in six months is leading the way. I do consider myself an expert on this issue and often defend outrageous bidding due to the difficulty in obtaining certain cards but, unlike the Hunter (HOF'er with notorious problems), the Healy generally comes centered and is one vending run away from being a high pop. Gentleman, I submit to you, the most overpriced sportscard I've seen since the $1000 1981 Donruss Tim Raines RC PSA 10. That is stupid money...to each his own, I guess. I wonder if "girlmaverick" "entered the wrong bid amount" again!

As the third bidder, I also witnessed the PSA 10 Raines deal in live time. I was surfing and came upon the Raines card when it was under $20.00 with about 5 minutes to go. I think Raines is one of the most underappreciated players of the past 25 years and one of my personal favorites, so I popped in a bid of $45.00 and had it at $42.00 with less than 2 minutes to go. I hit refresh and still had it with less than a minute to go. I got distracted by one of my kids for a moment, hit refresh and BOOM! it was over a grand with less than 10 seconds to go. I think I fell out of my chair. Two snipers hit right at 10 seconds with outrageous bids and the more outrageous one "won" the card. It was quite surreal.
Thanks
Randy
