I got another 10!

Will wonders never cease. I got another 10. A 1970 Common. Overall it was a 54 card order and I think I did pretty well. I'm send ing in alot of smaller orders. I seem to do better. 897729 32776.

Congrats on the 10 Bob. Nice results on the '69s as well. Did you end up getting an 8 on that Radatz?

Dont have the results on the Radatz yet. I have 4 or 5 50 card invoices still at PSA. Its in 1 of them. I really think its close. It has 9 corners but there is a couple of minor snowflakes. They could 8 the card on that.

    Jay,
I sent in about 40 killer 73's. I was amazed at there sharpness. I could get some 10's on those if the grader got some the night before!
  • Good work, Bob. It's such a thrill when you get that GEM MINT 10 staring you in the face. I just received a 1959 star card in psa 10.
  • Bob,
nice submission. do you have any specific plans for the 1970 #716 card? wink, wink

  • is it just me, or when everyone else gets a vintage 10 are they suprised? my last submission of 45 cards i got 2 tens, i sent in a bunch of 72's and 74's among them was a 72 peterson ia, i thought it may have been a 10. when my grades were posted i was disappointed to see it was a 9. however, my 72 odom and 74 torrez both garnered 10 status when i thought they would be 9's . i was very happy and very suprised.

I have over 40000 1974's, I could probrably get 10's there. In fact there are 2 sellers I send bulk too and they have received numerous 10's. But for 73 and earlier, 10's are NOT common.

  • gaspipe,

i agree that of all the 70's issues the 74's seem easier to get 10's. a while ago i sent in about 100 78 b.b. fresh from a GAI 8.5 vendor pack way to many 8's no 10's.

    i'm looking for 74 topps 135, 137,237,245, 329, 355 PSA 9 material , with no prospects, centering, snow & boogers.image

nice sub! traditionally i have done better by breaking up larger orders, and the turnaround is faster.
  • Awesome.

I'm addicted again as well... in my most recent set registry special submission, there were no 10s but some nice 8s and 9s. I got another batch of 73s to submit.. I was pleasantly surprised with my last batch.

Sounds like you should get an 8 on it. I received a 7 on mine but it had NM-MT corners and massive snow in the background. A few specks coupled with mint corners shouldn't warrant a 7. If you do get a 7, that would be a good candidate to resubmit since it will be a judgement call by the grader. I managed to get my Schmidt rookie upgraded from 8 to 9. I always felt the card should have been a 9 but the original grader felt two micro print snow specs were sufficient to downgrade the card to an 8. Another grader felt differently.

This Radatz is the finest I've ever seen. Got it off dhcards. Not the PSA 8 he sold, another one. I bought the 8 too. Besides Shannons I also collect Radatz's and Hershbergers. I'd collect Satrianos and Andrews but cant find any.
  • Bob,
PM me with you email address. i have had no luck sending to the address in your profile.

  • Congrats on the new 10. I've yet to get a 10 on vintage cards but I've only done 5 submissions so far. The submission I just got back included a 9 1968 Sammy Ellis and I almost P'd my pants. If I ever get a 10, I'll probably need a mop. image

  • KingKellogg -- Gassy!? I love it!

Bob - I've got 140+ cards at PSA now. 63's, 66's, 67's, 69's. For me; this is the largest submission I have assembled to date. The cards are all pretty nice. 10 may be elusive yet still however. Congratulations on yours. Good luck with the Radatz; I finally got a nice 7 in my set.
