Whats a good price for a matte proof Sovereign 1902

I've seen a few online for a bout $500.00 in PR62. Is that about right?

Both 2004 Spink and 2004 British Coin Market Values quote £150 for a matte proof sovereign. That's about $280. I wouldn't spend much more than that unless it's a real stunner.

I was going to say that $500 is high and wybrit beat me. Steinbergs lists a £2 PR62 matte proof for $595 and usually you can offer them about 10% under.

PR62 SOV should not be more than a $175.00 coin. PR64 could go to $400.00. A PCGS PR64 1/2 SOV from the Terner collection sold for $465.00 in the Goldberg Acution Last year.
