Houston Money Show .....

The Houston Money Show was a couple weekends ago. I said I wasn't going to buy, just look.
Having said this the last several coin shows that I attended.
Seemingly to this date I have failed every time. image

I bought the following 2 coins.

First is a tetradrachm from Phoenicia. Arados, Tyche obverse and Nike reverse with city name. $90. Fairly decent price. I think.
My first Greek tetradrachm (4th Greek silver) and possibly my next really bad collecting habit.

Second is a Spanish 4 reale. I like these coins. Would like to make a bigger collection of these. This is my second of these. The first was a 2 reale.

Greek silver could be habit-forming, and any tetradrachm for ninety bucks sounds good to me. One with a nice design like that seems even better.

Need some nice Roman denarii to go with those Greek pieces? image

  • Have a few.
    Trajan
    Hadrian
    Faustina I
    faustina II
    Marcus Aurelius
    Vespasian

Although not into the silver Romans as much as I am the bronze.

And you're right about the greek silver being habit forming. I've already been warned. image
I have the smaller Greek silver(tetrobols) and now the Tet. I'm feeling the urge.
