    Dave,
With you being a businessman, I find it odd that your first attempt to post uses extremely poor punctuation, spelling, structure, etc. It's very hard to read, but yeah, I got through it. And what's with all the caps?
Regardless, I'm sure your post will spur activity of some kind.

If I had those big dollar PSA 9's and 10's,
I would seriously consider backing up my investment with Global's exemplar service, regardless of affiliations and favoritisms. I would also tell Dimitri that there is no logical reason for avoiding SGC.
    that said.............Happy Hunting .

Why doesn't Dmitri collect cards graded by SGC, PRO or Beckett?

Thanks Dave I think it's great that someone who takes part in the game still has an addiction to it even when he is not playing. It's great for the hobby to that someone with his resources wants to take part in the hobby and build a collection that is worthy of a museum and have tremendous pride in his collection. It's also great to here he didn't cross his collection as it would play havoc on the pops of the real high end stuff when he crossed them back. Glad you came here to squash the rumors
  • Dave,

While I think it's great that Dmitri or anyone takes the hobby this seriuosly is great for all of us collectors, it personally wouldn'; make one bit of difference to me if anyone crossed their collection from PSA to another company. No one person is bigger than PSA. It's inevitable that somebody will get over emotional and cross. Who cares?

I guess what I'm trying to say is the rumor was a non-issue to begin with. That said, welcome to the boards Dave.

    BOTR,

image I couldn't have said it better myself. Unbelievable. He's either very lazy when he types or Dmitri will do business with anyone.

  • Gotta agree with BOTR on this one. That was a very unprofessional post, gradedcardbuyer. I wonder if you even know what your talking about. Doesn't seem like it. Got any used cars for sale?

Ouch. His first post is a dagger. You'll fit in well. Welcome Igloo.

I disagree. There was nothing unprofessional about the post. Someone spread some rumors. Gradedcardbuyer came here as a representative of Dmitri Young to dispell the rumors.

(Assuming, of course, that this guy is, indeed, passing on a message from Dmitri.)

  • Yeah, koby. That's a pretty big IF, isn't it? This guy seems like a dork. I bet half her story is fiction.

  • dork? SORRY I DONT TYPE AS WELL AS YOU THINK I SHOULD I AM NOT A SECRETARY I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD COME ON HERE AND TAKE CARE OF SOME MYTHS THAT WERE BEING SPREAD BUT AFTER THE WAY I AM BEING CRITISIZED THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I EVER COME ON HERE I AM THRUE TRYING TO KEEP ANAL RETENTIVE FOOLS IN THE LOOP

  • Dave,

We all get a little attack on us every once in a while. You need to be a bit more thick skinned. Also, it's through....not thrue.

  • gradedcardbuyer, how do we even know who you are? The Dave Bailey that your talking about works for Kevin Savage. There's no way he's as stupid as your coming across.
  • Tough crowd tonite...

  • << <i>Tough crowd tonite... >>

Not really. He had a GREAT message with a poor delivery. He really doesn't need to be so thick skinned. He should just keep poisting and have some fun with comments he feels are out of line.

You had a great post until you mentioned a slander suit. You can't sue him for his opinion of you.

CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG!!!!!!!!! toppsgun didn't attack davalillo for an hour and the natives get restless.

Dave , thanks for popping on the boards and providing some neat info. good luck to dmitre on his collection and I don't blame you for not coming back to the boards.

usually davalillo gets attacked for little to know reason, I guess the natives are looking for someone else.
  • I had to look again. I thought that I got on the Network 54 board. Anyone seen MW?

  • Also, it's through....not thrue.

    GoSoxBoSox,

    Also, it's posting...not poisting.
  • gradedcardbuyer, it would be libel, not slander and gosoxbosox is right, it's my opinion. You can't sue. Get a grip.

Well, didn't we get started off on the wrong foot now?

Earlier today I spent a good deal of time on the phone with Mr.Bailey and we laughed about his not being so great with typing and I had a feeling that when I saw this post pop up he was going to get hammered for the caps but not to the point of verbal assault.Sorry,Dave I should have warned you that Caps are evil.Despite the caps turning this un ill inteneded post upside down I can honestly say that Mr.Bailey speaks much better than he types. He shared with me a lot of interesting things that check out.

Dave also bought my Steib RC for Mr.Young and this is how we started talking.I think that if he was blowing smoke over the phone he is a pro at it but again,he says things that match up to a few other folks from this board I spoke to shortly after to confirm that the Steib went to Mr.Young.Don't worry,Dave as the things you requested to be not discussed were not,I don't do that sort of thing but knew it was okay to discuss other things among friends that are brought up on this post.

One example to legitimize who Dave is will be in next months SMR.It will have a full page devoted to a topic that I will let Dave disclose as it's his story to tell.

Dave has no ill intentions here folks. He just wants to come on here and join in on discussion regarding the hobby and his part in it.

    Rob,
Thanks for the insight. I find the topic interesting and knew it would generate conversation..............it just works better if it's readable. My intent was not to bash.

I don't think that's asking too much, is it?

    BOTR
  • There's way too much fighting on here as it is. And I've read worse posts. The guy's legit, so cut him a break. Besides I don't remember anyone busting on Twinron for all caps.
  • wolfbearwolfbear Posts: 2,759 ✭✭✭

I think some posters were less upset about the caps and grammer,
than they were about the lumping of SGC, PRO and Beckett together.

As for the actual content of the post, I found it very informative.
How refreshing to read facts, for a change, instead of the usual rumors.

  • "CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG!!!!!!!!! toppsgun didn't attack davalillo for an hour and the natives get restless."

Yeah, but I was gettin' ready to. The guy sounded like he could be related to Dav. You know, third cousin, once removed. Promising never to post again, then coming right back on. Tho' Dav never played the slander card.

  • First, off I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding taking place here.

The point of this post is to clear the air about Dimitri's collection not being converted from PSA to GAI.I got a call when someone posted that he converted his collection and this was the initial reason why I wanted to post here. Not to fight with anyone, or to get hammered over my lack of ability to type like a pro. All I would like to do is help everyone understand that some of what was said about Dimitri's collection is slightly off from fact. I would have come here sooner but the problem was waiting for the code to open up my user ID.

Over here we have a great relationship with both PSA and GAI and when I'm acting on the behalf of someone who is deeply passionate in the hobby I don't want to make things misunderstood . I am only trying to help manage his collection and Dimitri urged me to come here and address the basic facts on the collection converting before it got out of control

Oh and the Caps thing, I'm really sorry for....My English teacher would be just as disappointed as some may be here.

I look forward to spending time here with everyone if that is still okay.

    Regards, David Bailey
  • Spell check on aisle 5. It seems like a pretty tough crowd in here, and I don't want to seem like I am piling on but your posts are not being done by the same person. Forget the caps - your grammar and sentence structure are not consistent from your first posts to the last few. Wait until your 3rd grade teacher sees this mess on hereimage

I knew you were legit the whole time, David. image

Now we know that you buy cards for Mr. Young. Do you collect
cards yourself, and (if so) what do you like to collect?

    welcome!

Thanks for the response and welcome to the boards, Dave.

It's not so bad here, a pick here and there but pretty harmless. Keep us in the loop with his collection. (Abeit with the newly-found writing skills).

Dave purchased an '85 Donruss rack case from me awhile back. Dave, was this one Dmitri opened? Just curious. I think it's great that a current player is so involved in the hobby. A lot of them seem to feel it's beneath them but lately a lot more players are involved. Are there other serious collectors in major sports that we maybe haven't heard about? Nice to see someone who is a fan besides being a player. Welcome to the boards.

  • yep that was for him like i said he loves to open stuff up
  • Hi

I have been a longtime lurker here. Never wanted to get involved because you guys can be really hard on the new guy. This post was the most recent example of this. Some of you guys went after Dave viciously, when it was not completely warranted. I hope to add something to conversations from time to time and hope that we will be able to treat each other with some mutual respect.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

HAL - DAVE ...Welcome to the boards!
RIPKEN - I agree! Its great to have an All Star (he made it to the squad in '03) player collect like the rest of us. He collects graded cards and loves to open up packs, that can be said about 99% of us. So he is one of our own image ...jay

You guys crack me up. You gotta admire a guy who can get his girlfriend to type his posts for him. If I could get my wife to do that for me, I think my life would be complete.

    have a life!

Although I wouldn't blame anyone for trying to talk their wife into
it -- girls always seem to be more smarterer than us guys and better
at grammer and whatnot fer sure, no?

    Hal,

Please realize that responses on this forum are no different than those encountered in everyday life. Think about all the rude (or whatever term you want to use) people you meet everyday......this means at work, on the road, on the phone, in daily business transactions, your neighbors, relatives, and even at home sometimes!

Usually it's the same folks who are 'vicious', which really means a bark without a bite. Don't take it personal and come join the fun, even if it's dysfunctional at times!

Welcome to the board! Dont mind the peanut gallery I was also blasted my first post for typing in all caps and am blasted for my grammer frequently. Dont hide your head lots of info and oppurtunities here on the board.

As for Mr Youngs collection I envy you. I've followed his purchases for the last couple of years he is a true collector!!!

    Dave,
Welcome and let me also apologize on behalf of the true collectors who like
to share info on these boards.

Sometimes the kiddies from the BST board escape and post over here with the serious folk.

Thanks for enlightening us, its always interesting to here the habits of others, especially when they can buy whatever they want.

If you have time, rea through some past threads and you will learn the the names of the posters on this board
that actually discuss the hobby. IGNORE THE REST. Works for me.

    Loves me some shiny!
