1986 General Mills Booklets

Can anyone give me any details on the 1986 General Mills Booklets set? I have been searching for a couple of years for the Ozzie Guillen card and have yet to even see one. The only info I can find on the internet are a bunch of player collector websites also looking for this issue of their player. Are they standard size?? Anything you can tell me would be helpful.

Have you looked in the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards or equiv. issue?

  • << <i>Printed on thin glossy stock, each of these six booklets measures approximately 15" x 3 13/16" when unfolded; each single player (and the complete booklet when folded) measures approximately 2 9/16" by 3 13/16". Each booklet features ten color player head shots, five on each side. The players' cap logos have been airbrushed. the sixth (non-player) panel is an entry for a contest to win a day with your favorite player at spring training 1987. The players' statistics in English and French appear under each photo. The title card carries the booklet number in the top right corner. The set is sometimes referred to as the "Cheerios" set as it was inserted inside Cheerios cereal boxes. Cheerios is a product of General Mills. Booklets still in the original clear cellophane protective wrapping are worth an additional ten percent over the prices listed below. >>

Thank you! It looks like I will need to add "Cheerios" to my searches.

Only thing to add, though esoteric is that the contest was sponsored by Petro-Canada service stations to win the day with a major league player at his 1987 spring training site in Florida - source: SCBC
