Question About "Now on eBay" Posts (Spam?)

As I'm new to this board, I'm confused about something. Often I'll see a thread criticized as "spam" when the selling of cards is mentioned, but not always. Often there are posts concerning some PSA graded cards being posted for sale on eBay, and these threads generally don't get criticized as much -- probably because people working on PSA Registered Sets prefer to know this type of information. So, my question really is -- What is defined as "spam" and what is not on this board?

Pretty much anything is acceptable on the buy, sell, trade forums. When you post auction info on the registry or sportscard forums, it should be very infrequently and something people on here have been talking about recently (e.g., low pop, high grade commons for the 1969 baseball set builders that frequent the registry forum) or something pretty special. If these forums get too clogged with auction SPAM, people will start complaining.

That's my take on it anyway.

If one posts his own auctions or items for sale it is considered Spam by many.
If another person posts someone elses auction, that is considered OK, since its newsworthy and they aren't trying to profit from it.
This is just what I ascertained by reading the multitude of posts...jay

we have an entire forum dedicated to vintage sportscard trading.
I say spam your e-bay auctions there, or even try pre-selling your e-bay auctions.

It looks like we may have to set up a separate forum for the obnoxious Red Sox folks too.
I dunno.........maybe call it the 'zero percenters forum' ?

    Thanks VL!
Glad my post wasn't considered SPAM---It meant to be a courtesy post as it does involve some low pop cards from sets that resgistrants have been looking for--and have been recently talking about.

Also, I provided a sumission invoice for perusal, including evidence of recent turnaround time and grading accuracy (vs. expectations).

Finally, thread was not revived to the top of the listing every day for 4-7 days. Heck, cards are still in transit from PSA to me--They won't be scanned and on EBAY for at least another 48-72 hours.

    "...life is but a dream."

Used to working on HOF SS Baseballs--Now just '67 Sox Stickers and anything Boston related.

SPAM = when you have something to sell

not SPAM = when they have something to sell
