Help! I'm walking on the 1955 Topps fence (again)

Hi Guys, As some of you know I am collecting the 1956 Topps set in PSA 6/7 grade. I am at about 53% and going strong. However, I can't shake the thought of working on a PSA 6 1955 Topps set also as a secondary set. I really like the 1955 Topps set along with the 1956 Topps set. You only go around once so I thought why not collect both? I could use some advice on the 1955 Topps set if any is offered. Oh yes, did I mention that I could use some cards too. If anyone has either to offer, let me know as a PM or email me at nbdowney@msn.com

  • The '55 set is one of the best sets going and a favorite of mine along with the 57 set. If you are not sure if you are going to complete it start with the key cards - Clemente, Williams, Koufax, Killebrew and move on to the commons. The color of some of the cards in this set make them seem like they were printed yesterday. Good luck with the set!

  • Thanks for the comment. I am starting to lean towards doing the 1955 set in a PSA 6. However, I might have to sell my PSA 1965 Topps set to do it. I have six more cards to add to that set which would bring it over 23% complete (138 cards). A good offer on my 1965 Topps set would sure make a difference in my thinking. It's also listed under Neil B. Downey and Sons Collection. If amyone wants to make me an offer, PM me. Neil
  • in my opinion the 55 set with the exception of 52 and 53 is topps best effort of the 50's. i would still keep those 65's . good luck!!
  • Hi Highend, I noticed that you have on your post that you collect 1972 Topps PSA 8 cards. I have about 180 different one for sale. Send me an email at NBDOWNEY@MSN.COM and I'll send you a list. Neil
