Which is better????

im putting together my first collection and i picked pennies....1959-date. well ive been looking through all my old change and turned out to have most of the collection. but my question is this: is it better to have a coin that has red in it with brown spots or streaks.....or to have an all brown coin??? the brown ones look i guess....."clearer" than the other ones but i figured since the other ones have some red in them, they are probly worth more.

Welcome to the boards! As with most aspects of coin collecting, it's all in the look you're trying to go for. Very high end examples exist of all of those. And when you see them all in a row they are really nice. And they are affordable. If you get a chance to go to a coin show, you can take a look at what is out there. The more exposed you are to the hobby, the more it will wrap its tentacles around you. image

A red one with problems or a nice brown one? That's a tough call! Whether you realize it or not in several years the spotted & streaked red ones will have turned into brown ones anyway.
As far as ave circ pocket change the ones with "some red" aren't worth anymore than the brown ones.
Me I'd go with the no problem brown ones or get red ones without problems.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Better listen to the big Doggie. He know from whence he speaks.
There once was a place called
