1975 Topps Football

image
I’m looking to sell my 1975 Topps Football set. It’s at 38% with a 9.02 Weighted GPA. It includes: 15 PSA 10’s, 184 PSA 9’s and 2 PSA’8’s. The set includes almost all the money cards including: Dan Fouts (R), Lynn Swann (R), Joe Theismann (R) (PSA 8), Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach, Fran Tarkenton, Rocky Bleier (R), Cliff Branch (R), OJ Simpson, Drew Pearson (R), Ken Stabler, Joe Greene, OJ Simpson, Jack Ham, John Riggins, George Blanda, Bob Griese, etc. Set is loaded with hall of famers.

Scans of every card are available in the registry. At one point I was scanning the backs as well, but never finished. A more detailed scan of any card is available upon request.

SMR is around $5,600 (assuming the PSA 9 price for the 15 PSA 10’s). If interested, please let me know before I put it on Ebay.

Thanks,
Robert

  • Robert, I almost can't believe it. Your 1975 FB set is one of the most thorough and informative sets on the registry. It was on the way to becoming a work of art and an unbeatable entity. I am truly sad to see it go. For anyone that hasn't checked it out, please do so before it is a thing of the past. Robert, I hope to see your name in Registry lights again in the future.

I'm interested in just the Vikings cards, if you break the lot.
    Enjoy your collection!

Robert, definitely a good read. Where did you find all the info on the lesser known players? I can find stuff on the stars, but never see in depth info for the mid-level players. Let me know if you have a link or site for something like that.

  • Art, Erik,

I'll let you know if I break the set and give you first shot at the Skins and Vikings. However, Art, I already pulled out a bunch of the Skins which I'm keeping for myself.

    Jeremy, Jason,

All the info on the players was found at various places on the internet. It was/is very time consuming to track down a lot of that stuff. Some of it was found on the individual team sites. I would have liked to find something for every card/player in the set...

I mainly looking to sell it because at this point because I can't see myself finishing it. It's just too large for me and don't see myself tracking down the remaining 300 cards... For the time being, I'll be working on my player sets and I've recently started a 64 Stand Up set.

If you do break the set, please let me know as well. I would take several cards (especially the Steelers and a few of the 10's)...but, if not I wish you luck selling the set. It's a nice one, and you should do very well with it!

  • Robert listed his set last night on eBay:

1975 Topps FB Set PSA 9 and PSA 10
He also listed what I am thinking are some duplicate PSA 9s.

I sorry we couldn't work something out, best of luck in your auctions.

I hope someone buys it!!! I would love to have that set!! Just don't have the cheese right now, and too many other sets need completing.

    Good Luck!

I agree RobBob...that set looks sweet to me, too! I may grab a few of those spare 9's, but I don't have the funds for the whole enchilada right now either...thanks for that link Jeremy.

A very hardy Congrats - good for Football too. A very strong realized price.
I know, a little bit sad Robert, you put a lot of effort into that set, but that price makes it all worth it.

  • '75 is my favorite football set. I had a bunch graded a couple years back from racks I bought but I decided to sell, mainly because I feared my investment wouldn't be able to be recouped. Congrats, and I too am glad to see a nice strong price realized for the partial set.
  • I'm pleased with the price, although I wouldn't have minded if someone had hit the BIN image I agree with Jeremy that it's a strong price for 70's football. I guess I need to figure out how to ship 200 PSA cards now...

  • Very carefully - I'm thinking there were a lot of 1/1 cards, and as far as I know, they stopped making 75 Topps FB a while back.
I just hope he picks up where you left off - hurry back Robert.
