My New Quarter Eagle + A tiny report on the Albany NY show today

I went to the monthly Albany NY coin show today. The place was packed and there were more people there then I've ever seen there before. Lots of transactions going on, from people buying Lincoln pennies to fill folders, to some big sales of gold and rare type. I saw some proof sets moving about in bulk, and Franklins and Buffaloes seemed to be moving very well. Modern eagles also seemed to be moving well. People were quite happy there and very busy. Better material was leaving.

Here is the coin that I picked up there today for you to enjoy also:

The scans show it poorly, but it has a wonderful even gold tone, and great luster. I know the dealer who sold it to me, so I'm not worried about counterfit issues. This gent knows his gold, and has been teaching me :-)

I hope that everyone else had a good day too!

  • Nice... my grandma lives about an hour from Albany... next time I go visit, I'll have to make sure it coincides with the show so I can take a trip down to Albany for a day... image

Myriads - Where is the show held? Back in the late 70s-early 80's, I went to the show every month. It was held at the Polish Community Center, where they had sausage and pierogies for lunch.
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.
  • Ronyahski, the show is still held at the Polish Community Center on the first Sunday of each month (except for two months it takes off in the summer) one can still get all that great Polish food also. :-) I was there every month in the late 70's early 80's also we probably crossed paths many times.
