Group chew to easy the tension?

With the board members at each others throats these days I thought it be nice to have a group event we all could share in.

That said, I have 108 pieces of Topps chewing gum I recently pulled from 2 boxes of 1980 baseball and 1979 Football wax packs. Just send me your address and a piece is in the mail.

We can share in the horror together!!!

NOTE: I'm not responsible for broken teeth or the fact that the gum will yaste more like sand than anything else.

    Tom,

If you make it TWO pieces - you're on!

I'm not sure that my caps will like it very much - but if I can eat White Castle - what are a couple of 25 year old sticks of gum?

    PM with address sent.

  • Oh man!!!!! I got my piece of gum in the mail today.

It was packaged better than the two cards that also came in today's mail (not from GSBS).

However, it tasted AWFUL. But it was worth the fun of trying to relive that remembered taste.

    Thanks for the fun Tom!!!!!!!

    Well Tom...

They arrived like the flu and I just tried one of the sticks as I typed this... Gum it is no longer...

It disintegrated in my mouth like a bad tasting tums. And I realize that my strategy may have backfired... I was planning on having one tonight and save one for a future date. So - I ate the one that was still more pinkish than grey.

Now, I've eaten the better of the two and I need to get a beer quick...

    Thanks for sharing!!!!

  • You two brave souls were the only takers!!! I'm glad you both lived to tell your stories.

Maybe this is a good idea for the next meal on Fear Factor?

Cool, ill be there. Booked mine a couple weeks ago. Im staying at red roof inn.

BTW. I purchased that 57 Topps Slater Martin through a friends account that still hasn't arrived. I will be waiting, but I think that it has to be missing 30 days before a claim can be filed. I know that you have been talking w/my friend about this and he has been letting me know whats going on. Anyway.......we will see what happens.

  • Dave - A word of advice......save the gum to the end of your stay at the national and have a drink in your hand image. It was really bad, but, again, worth the effort.
  • Ya know...we've sold the cards, we've sold the wrappers - have there been any auctions for the gum?
perhaps with a really tight pack you could tell from the gum what year the card was?

1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards

ONLY TWO TAKERS!?!?!?!?!?! WHAT IS THIS????????

I thought that this was the PSA SET REGISTRY Forum -

    NOT the Fu-Fu-wussy-I'm-scared-to-try-24-year-old-baseball-card-gum-board!!!!!

C'MON!!!!! WHERE are the immature, devil-may-care collectors that I've grown to love and respect?!?!?!

Geez... my world has taken a crushing blow today... Sounds like the next National dinner will have to be scheduled at Daisy's House of Tofu...

I need another beer... oh wait... maybe coffee first, then beer...

  • I have about 100 pieces left. What've doesn't go will be kept in a zip lock bag and distributed at Nationals.

I vow to not waste a single piece!!!

Hey? GIA grades packs...think they'll grade gum?
