Question About Starting Sports Card Business

In order to buy wholesale from a company such as Upper Deck or Topps does one need a physical storefront? I would think that with the popularity of online businesses such as eBay that this requirement should be eliminated.

yes i had to take pictures of street sign store front and all 4 walls of the store. and i got excepted by all card companies except upper deck.
upper deck told me im not a card shop so they wont sell to me. bc i sell all kinds of merchandise. from car tags to bean bags etc.. it is really a pain in the a$$ to get cards.
    hope that helps

Wal mart Target etc.. do they get hobby packs though??i thought they can only get retail packs. upper deck is the worst customer service of all the companies.
  • In my book Upper Deck has the best customer service of all the companies. Upper Deck made a commitment to the hobby by not cheapening their product by letting everybody go direct. That is why past unopened wax of Upper Deck products hold value better than all the other companies as well. Fleer products go down below factory cost within a few weeks to a month after release. Donruss has some solid products, but the majority of them I can get below factory cost through my wholesalers and they are the most guilty of backdoor deals by blowing out what they have leftover to a few of the major wholesalers and ruining it for card shops. Topps seems to hold, they have the best name in the hobby and are basically the history of the hobby. Upper Deck makes the best inserts and has by far the best autograph lists of the companies by head and shoulders.
