Thinking of selling the dogs..

I have some real "dogs" in my collection, mainly from when I first started buying. These are the typical problem coins - cleaned, scratched, blah, blah, blah... I will, of course, list the problems in the auction. However, I have one coin that is scratched, but the holder is "good" (no mention of scratch). Do I have an obligation to describe this scratch and share that I feel this should have been body bagged? I kind of feel that I should, but want to know what others think.

I am not a dealer, just a lowly collector.

  • I think an honest description would be appropriate. Good luck. image

i always strive to give the buyer an accurate picture and description of whatever i'm selling, that way there are no surprises for either of us. if you feel the scratch is worthy of note, mention it.

You should describe the coins accurately regardless of whether they are slabbed or not.
    All glory is fleeting.
  • Better to be honest and describe comlpetely.
