I'll probably go. I just got back from the Birmingham Coin Club show. Attendance was high but dealer buying prices were, as usual, low. I tried to sell some better modern gold commems but ended up bringing all of them back. I'm more convinced than ever that eBay is the way to go.

    All glory is fleeting.

How do you get there from I-75 Northbound? I am in Toledo.

If you are coming from Toledo, take I-75 to I-275, go north on I-275 to the "6 Mile " exit. Once you get off the exit take a right and you will see the Holiday Inn on the left hand side......

    Ummmmm, new goodies!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • I was planning on checking it out on Friday. Anyone working it? If so, where should I look to find you?

I also will try and make the trip Friday!! image
  • I'm not sure, I've never been. I had a dealer at the Hyatt show (thanksgiving) tell me that it was the next big show (not as big as the Hyatt show though). I'm hoping it will be pretty good though.

    65 tables and 75 dealers......that might be a problem
  • Just got back from the show...took a quick run at lunch time. Looked like 50-60 tables or so, and it was quite crowded. Lots of people looking, but not a whole lot buying. Saw lots of SEGS slabs for some reason. Very little MS high grade stuff, but maybe my expectations were too high. Almost no attractive toners, and no DMPL's to be found (except for some NTC's that might have been PL's). One lonely darkside guy with no one at his table, another guy with all ACG and PCI (gold) slabs. Also saw lots of NGC and ANACS slabs, but not a whole lot of PCGS. I was looking for a white MS Stone Mountain Comm, and only found a few with dark sufaces and little luster/eye appeal.

Tons of run of the mill unc Morgans, Walkers, Frankies, Washingtons, etc....most were MS 60-64 (my guess.) Saw one decent PCGS MS65 Morgan (81-S) as I was leaving, but had to laugh when I saw the sticker that said "trends $350".
  • Doesn't sound too exciting....I was planning on stopping by there tomorrow - I was going to look for some Franklins for my MS set, also some DMPL's image

    Thanks for the review Jeff!
