Kellogg's question

Are they worth more if you keep the three card panels intact? I'm asking about '81 and '82 3D's.

No additional value in the connected panels......

In most cases..(except "71's and '75's..), look for PSA 9's or better for a "value added" item.

(Of course, if you get a 10 in 1970, contact THEGEMMINTMAN right away!!!...I'd like a call on 1971 through 1983 Kellogg's PSA 10's..image..)

    Good Luck !!

  • I sending in about 500 this week. We'll see what it yields.

Is it worth sending in Slurpee coins?

Player collectors are often interested in Slurpee coins. However, I would warn you that the chipping along the edges of the coins make them a tough grade. Anything PSA 8 and below likely won't make it a wortwhile submission.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Let's not get too crazy gemmy. This is purely to get this stuff out of the house and maybe make a few bucks image

Just kidding. I actually like the appearance of Kellogg's and 3D cards. All the 3D cards seem to be lottery like to me. First, it's 10 or bust. Second, I'd hate to invest money on a card that might crack. Am I off track here?

And what's the deal on the slurpee coins? Any market?

    So what's 9 criteria for a coin?

Also, '81 Kelloggs (at least the one's I have) seem to have a corner issue. When the card panel come apart the corner of one card seems chipped and the next oversized. That is, the the plastic that connects the cards seems to be on each corner so when they come apart one card gets the plastic making it stick out and the other obviously loses that plastic making the corner look chipped. Is this the same with all '81s? Or does it just happen to Kelloggs haters?

Bosox, you'll get plenty of 9's and 8's like the rest of us particulary since this is your first K-submission. The cracking issue has been discussed a long time here. I have never had a card crack in the holder. However it's cold out there, and since you're shipping cards in the dead of winter you will need to bundle those babies up well for their long journey to PSA. Raw cards are definitely susceptible to extreme cold weather conditions and can on occasion crack.

Great point!! I edited my last message with another question on '81's. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks.

  • Bosox, I only collect the '70 Kellogg's and the panel issues seem to be a problem for later Kellogg's years. This is something KING KELLOGG will be able to answer better.

It always helps though if you gently pat the Kellogg's Kard and say, "Nice K Kard, pretty 3-D Kard, I love my Kellogg's Kards".

They seem to respond better when you do this.

  • Am I living on the edge sending these in the winter?

If I were sending in a 500 Kard K submission I would use a lot of extra bubble wrap and send it overnight or 2-3 business days at a minimum. I've done it and never had a problem. Just remember to keep them very well insulated.
  • Okay. I have looked at them every which way and pulled out anything that isn't 9 quality. I also threw aside the slurpee coins for now since nobody seems to like them.

The submission will be 298 cards. See ya in 2 months with my results!! I expect nice grades for the '82s but I'm less confident on the '81s because of the problem I mentioned above. BTW, I'm still waiting on an answer from you Kellogg's experts on that problem.
