I notice that a 1916 ms 66 red lincoln went from about $900.00 to $2000.00 almost overnight in PCGS pricing guide. I'm not saying that I can get $2000.00, but there are other lincolns that are going up by a large margin. Is this where the market really is today, where prices are going up by a LOT overnight. Will they stay up or is there a drop coming?? I personally have quite a few slabbed early lincolns in red and am wondering if this is the time to sell. I personally don't see many on E-bay anymore like I did one to 2 years ago. Any opinions wanted, especially from the lincoln experts. Thanks. Steve

Yes the PCGS price guide shows values that are full blown retail.
I think of it as an MSRP for PCGS slabbed coins.

While the price guide is pretty whacked and, in most cases, doesn't reflect market reality, Lincolns are very, very hot right now. Some incredibly strong money is being realized at auction for high-end pieces. If I owned a set that I'd had a while, I'd be selling it before Lincolns cool and the market moves on to a new darling.
Remember the old Wallstreet axiom: Bears make money, bulls make money, but pigs get slaughtered.
