Should I dip this coin?

I am serious with this question. This coin is graded "1955 Pr68 cam" by NGC. I would like to cross it to a PGCS slab, but have been told it would not cross with the toneing. The cameo is strong enough, but was told PCGS would only give it a 67 because they would not take a risk on the tone hidding something.
I was told to dip it for 2 to 3 seconds in EZ luster, rinse, dip in ammonia to neutralize and then rinse again.
Any thoughts?
Coin has a blue/purple tone to it. There is a small scratch on the plastic that shows above his ear. That is not on the coin.

please dont do that.
infact dont dip it at all.
its an 8 in a premium holder
why risk it.
stman - I do not wish to hurt the coin and I am not a dealer by any means. In fact I am not doing this to sell the coin, but to put it in my registry set. I just find it interesting that there would be such a big margin for a coin like this in a NGC slab vs a PCGS slab. If I can buy NGC slabs and cross them to PCGS it is sure a lot less expensive.
I believe the toning is severe enough that if you remove it it will weaken the mirrors and kill any chance of a dcam coin.
PCGs really loves deep mirrors, a must for dcam coins.....

You might consider diluting the EZ luster when you do the dip - you can always add a little more to get a higher strength. PASS on the ammonia - that may actually turn your coin grey, & after that no dip will ever make it better. Better to disolve a little baking soda in a cup of water so that after dipping you rinse it in the now slightly base solution to neutralizte the acid from the dip, then RINSE WELL with warm water, BLOT dry & maybe after that lightly blow dry so there's no moisture when you put it in the flip to send off for your upgrade.
BTW if you "blow dry" use the low setting & hold the coin securely - I once blew a coin right out of my hand onto the floor when I mistakenly turned it on high - the ding never came out!

I am won't dip it if the consensus is no cross. It is a "pretty" dime just not white enough.
Has anyone tried to have a toned rosy graded at PCGS? Could it cross just like it is?
<< <i>Newmismatist - that is a good point. I suppose it is a gamble.

If it was a sure thing you wouldn't have gotten it so cheap!

Why not buy another, already-graded PCGS PR-68Cam for your register set?
