What do you when you are overbid?

The coin I was going to bid $1000 on is currently going for $1495.

What's your favorite thing to do when someone snags "your" coin at an auction.

    All of the above.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Think to myself, "another one will come along." If the price of the next one is as high (or higher), then I have to decide if I want to chase the market or wait for a downturn.

Stomp, scream, act like a idiot, root for Ohio State and then go to a corner and pout for a few days.

Return after the few days and figure another will show up sooner or later. Then the whole above process is done again usually....image

Lot of "Other" votes but not so many comments.

Oh well, who needs an 1929-S Walker in MS64 anyway?

It's not my coin. So I don't do anything. If it were my coin no one would have bid higher than me image

    <news flash> - you are a sailor </news flash>

on a separate but realted issue, my ex wifes brother told me that to say his sister spent money like a drunken sailor was an insult to drunken sailors.
"I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather did, as opposed to screaming in terror like his passengers."

If I get outbid...no biggie, there'll be another. In the meantime, I just go sailing. Can't be unhappy when you're sailing!

    I checked other.

    Cheers,

    Bob
  • Well when I place my bid it is what I would pay for the coin. As of late I have not played the snipe game. My first bid is my high bid. If I get outbid, I think the other person is being taken and spending too much money so I feel good.image

Just bid again, and again and keep bidding until no one else is dumb enough to pay more for the coin

I agree - I cannot belive what some people are paying for coins these days. The other day I was overbid on a coin I wanted that finally sold for 140% over current auction trends. I can't compete with the uninformed.....

You are doing well, subject 15837. You are a good person.

Feel bad for a bit that a coin I had taken time to select and bid upon will not be coming to live with me. Wonder if I'll find another I like as much, then remember that more always come along.

I can't compete with the uninformed..... ....I don't agree with your statement. If everyone would quit bidding at Greysheet price or whatever, every single coin out there would always be worth the same price and never rise or fall in price. If you want something in this lifetime, sometimes you have to go for it.....Ken
