1998 upper deck football

can someone please educate me on this brand ?
i'm looking for the basic upper deck 1998 brand release.
how many series or versions are there ?
are there different pack and box counts ?

If I remember correctly there was only 1 series on 98 Upper Deck football. I believe they were sold in 2 versions, Hobby and Retail. Rc's were shortprinted (1:4 packs) and the difference between Hobby and retail boxes was the amount of packs in the box and retail boxes had an exclusive insert set.

but ... did they make a 12 pack box ???
i've seen 12 pack boxes listed for $50.00
does that sound right ???

The 12 pack boxes are retail boxes. I don't know what current prices are, but I always feel the hobby boxes are the better deal. They have more packs thus more cards. Unless the retail ecclusive insert set is popular, or the retail box is chaeper, hobby boxes are usually the way to go.
