Lincoln variety question

JRoccoJRocco Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have several examples of this particular RPM on some nice red 49D's. My question is how can I differentiate between the different RPM's ? For example, are these 49D-1MM-005,1MM-007, 1MM-008 etc ???

Markers are the answer. Often times they are very close to one another and markers such as die cracks, scratches, etc. are the key to determining the differences.

Try this page for help, and let me know if you still have questions. Many times these can be a real bear to properly identify.

You're welcome - as soon as it gets to a point where I think there's enough functionality and photographs on the site to be worth a fee, I'll be implementing paid membership - until then, just enjoy it for free. I do plan on working extensively on functionality and appearance as this year progresses - a lot of things planned for it, just wait and see!

Another way is to note where the mint mark is in comparison to the date. Is the mint mark beneath the tail of the 9? Is it closer to the 9 as opposed to the 4? Etc.

This method won't always identify the exact OMM/RPM, but it can often eliminate many possibilities.
