Anything that could be found along the Oregon Trail out in the desolation of Central Oregon as long as the coin was from the 1800's. What a piece of history this would be. Actually I looked very hard where the trail crossed the John Day River. Nothing was found....
<< <i>how much would you be willing to pay for one,an epitome of the deepest and frost white 1 of 10 from the very first 64 a/h die pair produced for striking, a 1st strike, flawless off of the first dies ? >>
I suppose you're going to tell me you have one, Doops?
An 1806 knobbed 6 no stem VF half (7 known) at a local show for $350. This actually has happened twice in the last decade, the coins are worth $50,000 each.

It would be the 1950's again, in my little Massachusetts town near Boston, and I would be hangin' out with my buds on a Summer's day, riding our bikes up to the store where we gorged ourselves on candy once or twice a day if we could figure out how to raise the money. In my change I'd get a few of those shiny '55 DDO's like my friend did. But, I wouldn't sell them for a couple of bucks to the older kids who knew better.
I'd love to dig a piece of Draped Bust silver. A fella I know dug a VF 1800 dime in amongst the foundations of an old ruined tabby house north of here. I saw pictures of it. Incredible.
Edit- you did say "FIND".
If we are talkin' about a purchased dream coin, I guess maybe a Pan-Pac $50 octagonal.

What would my dream find be? Hmmmm... I'd like to be able to upgrade my 1872 3-Cent Silver Trime at a price I could afford.
What have I found lately? In my pocket change I've found: - Yesterday, a 1944 Merc Dime - Today, a 1936 Merc Dime - Tomorrow, I don't know, but I'll be looking...
You ask for a dream find, to me that would be something that I know does not exist, so mine would be the best designed coin I ever laid eyes on first strike PCGS MS70 1921 High Relief Peace Dollar coin. I know it will not be found but this was the best designed coin to ever be minted.

Maybe we should modify the Accented Hair Pr69 D/C to be either PCGS or NGC. NTC don't count.
Joe
P.S. I'll bid $1 over Russ' best offer.
Dateless flowing hair half dollar on online auction, fuzzy photo, turns out to be a 1794 O-111...
Another 1794 O.111 would work fine, or even another '94 O.109!
What is that???? HUH?
Joke right?

A dream coin would be a second 70-S Hald Dime in an old cigar box or coffee can.
UNC Bust dollars by the bag. Dozens of previously unknown 1804 dollars. And that's just the first day with the machine.

Hey, I could get lucky !
Draped bust dollar
Gobrecht dollar
1873-CC seated dollar
Even better, I'd like to find an 1840's seated dollar with Japanese (Ansei) counterstamps.
