Can't say much about this coin... I only know what other Krause book owners know, that this is a Brazilian 100 reis coin bearing the portrait of Admiral Marques Tamandare. And that this coin did circulate a lot

Nice! You really don't see a full frontal portrait everyday, even in medals. But in a circulating coin that's just courage on the part of the engraver...

Wow! Actually I'm looking for that coin, because it has an anchor on it---those coins I used to put in my main naval theme collection! And as for the Admiral, one Brasilian collector told me that his portrait appears also in some local banknotes.
