Large H over small H?

1882-H Canadian Penny
The 2004 Charlton (page 398) shows two H over H varieties.
Do you think this is a Large H over a small H? It sorta looks like the picture in the book.
Thanks,
Glenn

I don't have my Charleton with me at work and of course Krause makes no mention of it in my edition. But the more I look at the picture the more I would have to agree with you: I can see elements of a smaller H behind the upright bars of the larger H. Does Charleton indicate a premium for this or just list it as a variety? Nice find.image

  • Charlton says
Overpunch Die Varieties: Rarity 1 to 7; Value $1.00 to $500.00 premium.
Here's the picture in the book.

  • I've just saved this photo of your coin to my computer and used my picture processor and zoomed in and can clearly see the little "h" behind the big one. It is just like the picture in the book. The resolution started to fall apart but it was good enough for me to say the you have the little "h"ider.

How common is this variety? I have 3 1882-H lg cents and all 3 look like the picture. One even looks like H/H/H.
