Cuban Baseball Card Auction

At the request of Virtualizard and Tipem, I am reluctantly posting a link to my upcoming auction of Cuban and Puerto Rican baseball cards:
AUCTION LINK

It won't begin until Friday and less than half the items are currently visible, plus I haven't finished all the images and descriptions, but by Friday afternoon it will be all set.

The main focus, like my collection, will be cards of Negro Leaguers. I recently purchased an amazing collection of rare Puerto Rican cards and many of them will in the auction.

Okay, that's about all the spam I'm comfortable with. There's also a link from my website to the auction if the link above doesn't work.

Sorry in advance if this post angers anoyone.

I don't think people mind being pointed to auctions of such rare cards. I love the Charleston. Even in technically poor condition it has an understated beauty to it. That 1952 Don Zimmer card is pretty neat. And I might be interested in lot #4 for the Minoso card. But can you spotlight which one it is?
    WANTED:
2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25
2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs

    Nothing on ebay
  • You certainly dont need to apologize for notifying people of some truly cool and rare cards that youu are putting on ebay in fact i think most would thank you for the heads up!image
  • Ryan,

Thanks for the post. I told you it would not be a problem. This is definitely worthy of a post here on the message board - I love looking at this stuff! image

    JEB.
  • At those prices I'm sorry too image
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"
  • helionaut,

There are 2 Minoso cards in that lot. Both are pictured in the 2nd scan, 2nd row, 2 middle cards. The 1945-46 card is his first one, 7 years before his 1952 Topps and Bowman "Rookie" cards!

  • The auction is now open for bidding. There are 83 lots, nothing but vintage Cuban and Puerto Rican baseball cards from the 1920's to the 1950's. Most of these were not up yet when the link was posted the other day.

There are tons of Negro Leaguers listed, including almost impossible cards of several HOFers.

Not a single HOF set registrant here has a card of Oscar Charleston, Pop Lloyd or Leon Day in their set. All 3 are in this auction.

The auction ends on Friday, February 13th, 2004 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time with a 10-minute rule.

  • Ryan,

    The cards are absolutely beautiful!

If you ever come across cards signed by Charleston, Dihigo, Pop Lloyd, Leon Day etc. I would confidently say that roastedcat, Ullr and myself would battle to the death to get our hands on themimage

    Good luck with the auctions,
