Wow. It looks like prices on major Jefferson varieties are really taking off.
My bid of $950 including commission on a PCGS-66 1943/2 Jefferson (non-FS) just got topped in the Heritage weekly internet-only auction. I bought one of these about a year ago for $500!!

When in doubt, don't.

<< <i>I noticed the prices are kind of high also, I did not think that this coin was that rare. >>
The coin wasn't comfirmed as a real variety until long after it went out of circulation
so most of them got a lot of wear. There was a lot of confusion because of a couple
of other coins with die breaks that look quite similar. These are not tough in F or VG.
While not nearly as strong as the 42/1 dimes, I think the 43/2 Jeffersons are an
important coin as the last overdate made by the mint.

I'd like to buy your 1942-D/horizontal D! E-mail me so we can talk.
Datentype: I just bought one of the 1945 DDR MS66 PCGS for $750... and I'd like to buy another.

I think with the new design we will begin to see what rolls are hidden in closets come out, and hopefully some fresh nice jefferson material comeout...just judging by pms on 42d/d tell me it maybe low now, but can they really be that scarce?
