1999 SILVER PROOF SET PRICES KEEP RISING

The Ebay selling price for these just seem to keep getting higher (as hi as 286.00), along with sales at internet coin shops (as hi as 359.00).

What type of buyer (predominantly) do you think is buying these sets? Do you think they are predominantly being bought at these high prices by regular collectors for their personal collection or predominantly by people who are speculating they will continue to rise even higher in price and therefore as an investment.

Its just interesting that they keep rising is sales price. Just curious of fellow board members thoughts.

It is still my belief that these sets are selling at such a premium because of the first year issue of the state quarters. As the demand outpaces supply, the price for any sets available will continue to climb.
Everything starts and everything stops at precisely the right time for precisely the right reason.
