    Awesome colors.. but a slabbed kopek?? that's a $5 coin.. that one might go for $10. And what exactly is CNB supposed to be??

    Well, it's not a $5 coin anymore. It's soon to be a $50 coin, and in 5-10 years, a $200 coin.

    CNB, or ÑÏÁ (if any of you read cyrillic) is the mint mark indicating Sankt Peterburg (formerly also Leningrad)

    It already is (supposedly) a $100 coin. So much for Krause's $8 in MS-63 (which in my opinion is Unc, as opposed to the MS-60 that I have also seen referred to as Unc).

    I'd rather pay $1 for an XF though. In fact, this is exactly what I have, albeit a different date image

    That's a stunning coin. I would say it does belong in a slab. Nevermind Krause - just try and find some of these pieces in high grades with nice toning. Still, a starting bid of $100 is excessive. I noticed it went unsold. I might email the seller with an offer.

    Gorgeous kopeck. I wouldn't pay a huge, Liteside-style, stoopid-money premium for that sort of toning, but it is quite beautiful to look at.

    Stunning! NGC has designated it as BN I see. Don't you think it's time to expand their colour designations and start labelling them as blue, purple, etc? "Blue velvet" would be the * designation.image

    Dimitri, I have cyrillic alfabet in my PC , but for some reason I also couldn't read Philip's letters and I also couldn't post them to the forum: ÑÏÁ -- SPB Mint mark --you'll see the same result here. I think it just because we haven't here cyrillic support or (and it looks more real! image ) I don't know how to post these letters to the forum in the right way.

    And as for the coin..I will not to be negative, but once I had more than dosen of these kopeks (well, without that great toning most of them) and market price in Russia for such coins may be 0.5-1 $ for UNC , not for rare years, certainly.
