Just wondering what the criteria is to be given an award. How do you get nominated? Does your set have to have a certain % or grade? A low GPA to be eligable? Thanks for the help.

PS. I'm mainly talking about player sets.

Chris - For the 2003 Awards you needed to have your set registered, be over 50% complete and have the highest set rating among the competition.
For 2004 they have raised the completion % in order to be eligible.
Registry Awards
So, if you want to win the Mickey Mantle Player Basic or Master Player set award - you'd better get out your check book!
The awards always go solely to the top set in the category. Sets are also eligible for the Hall of Fame, which are chosen by Joe Orlando and his panel of industry experts. To date, these have all been best in category as well as being some of the toughest, nicest and priciest sets known to this forum.
Oh... and yes... you have to be at least over 50%. Last year, I didn't win an award for my 72 OPC baseball set at 48% even though I had the top set by a wide margin. Nobody else had over 3% (popular set, huh?). This year, I won the award because I was at 51%.
Sets - 1970, 1971 and 1972
Always looking for 1972 O-PEE-CHEE Baseball in PSA 9 or 10!
