SBA $ continues to comand $$$$$$

A 1980D MS67 PCGS SBA$ just closed on EBay for over $400. I do not believe that I have ever seen this coin sell for more than $200. There were 7 different bidders over the $200 mark and 3 over $300. This is follow through on the 1979S MS67 that sold for over $300 a few days ago.

There is a whole set of TOP POP SBA$'s on EBay right now. It will be interesting to see if this continues or tapers out.

I am not willing to predict anything yet.

    Point taken. I still think we have 2 or 3 collectors dukeing it out. Last weeks coin was a 1979-S that sold for $312.77 yet this week there is one with a buy it now for $175.00 and it has not sold yet. I do think these little dollar coins are over looked just as they were by the general public. I love the reverse and imagine if the Mint could have struck the Ike dollars this nice image

    It kinda makes me rethink my thoughts on selling my #16 set...seeing how I only paid $125 for my '80-D in PCGS MS67 and $75 for my '79-S in PCGS MS67...REALLY rethink....but, if anyone, and I mean ANYONE might make predictions we should listen to, it would be YOU DRG...though a year and a half ago (June 21, 2002 to be exact, and yes, I still have the email), Jeff Saltzman did predict that within 5 years, this would happen...looks like he was a bit early with his predictions.

    "Make them and they will come." lol!

    I sold my set for around 15K including the proofs last year. Now I have been trying to make, buy or borrow some of those coins back! lol!

    On ebay now, ending in 3+ days, is a 1981-P PCGS MS66. Buyer has a Buy-it-Now price of $1,000?????? Not sure how to post a link, but auction # is 2222730151. $1,000????

    I have not seen or heard anything from him in about 2 years......

    I haven't seen one of his ads in about a year and a half but no one gets too far out of this once they get in.image

    I've been overseas too long. Time to break out my SBA's and take a look at them. image

    Got a couple of rolls, and I cant even remember what they are! hahaha....been so long since I dug them outta the back of the safe. image
