Question about TPGs.

Yes, I'm a slabaholic, wybrit's term I believe. I need to get some higher priced coins slabbed by PCGS. I don't want to wait 60 days for them to get back to me ( 30 day service, travel time, coin shows, holidays, etc). Is there any other other PCGS services that have a faster turnaround time for non-US coins? I don't mind paying more for the service, but I don't want to pay $125/coin.

    Does it have to be PIGS? What about NGC?

    The coins I want to submit are for resale, and PCGS will bring more money than NGC. But I am considering NGC.

    NGC is cheaper and the turnaround is usually less than 30 days.

    If they are Canadian coins, I'd stick with PCGS or go to ICCS. NGC is starting to get an unfavorable reputation, due to a couple of unsavory dealers selling Canadian NGC coins.

    If they are possible registry canidates, your stuck with PCGS. image and the long turnaround.

    What gets me is that PCGS doesn't offer any World coin service less than 30 days. I wouldn't mind even paying the $50/coin for 7 day guarenteed service. We darksiders are being discriminated against.

    Yes we are, but one day the state quarters will all be released, and PCGS will need us. image

    We are not being discriminated against - money talks, BS walks - all those modern US coins are currently carrying PCGS and there ain't enough demand (or money) to justify any other darkside service... image

    I have submitted coins to PCGS with a three day turn around... not to long ago and with postage to and from PCGS it was about $100.

    Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

    My last Newfoundland coins I sent to PCGS ( mid Dec ) took three weeks to get back to me while I am still waiting for some US sent in 2nd Dec. All were econ.

    US... The fastest I have done World is 5 days through ANACS.
