    Those are beautiful, I love the ships. What country and metal? Looks like gold!!!!!!

    These are Spanish commemoratives for the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Americas 1492-1992. They are a reeded coin-like medallions and were in my late mother's collection of coins. They are solid bronze and I think, if my memory serves me, are 24 carat gold coated. They weigh one once and are 1" in diameter. I have them up at the bay....I'm not pluggin here I just wanted to know what other thought of them.image

    Very cool Caravels! Interesting that, when Wayne have showed us those pieces first time, I tried to find them in any Web catalog of Spanish coins (you can't find them in Krause, also) I didn't succeed in it! May be , because as you have mentioned, MSD61, these not exactly coins, but some sort of medalions! As far as I remember, Wayne has Red Bronze samples of these.
