Topps’ American Treasures will return in 2004 Topps Series II, but this time the popular insert will not focus on presidents of the United States.
Topps has confirmed that American Treasures will be included in Topps II, with the 1 of 1 cut signatures featuring the autographs of famous American inventors, military personnel and others whose role in American history is significant.
“American Treasures really took the autograph insert concept to the next level,” says Topps spokesman Clay Luraschi. “With the success of the presidential signatures and the overwhelming response from collectors it has allowed us to branch off and do some new and exciting things. We believe the American Treasures insert could be the biggest insert the hobby has ever seen.”
Topps Series II is scheduled for a mid-April release.
The 18-card checklist for American Treasures in Topps Series II includes:

Is a Mark Twain autograph really an autograph?
both ways in the course of his very long career.
It is only refering to getting the signature
that SAYS Mark Twain or that Says Samuel
Clemens...
(of which, I bet the Clemens is more rare)
I just took a quick look around and whoa, she had better handwriting than I do.
I'm all over that Aaron Burr card, though. He was awesome.
I still don't know what this has to do with baseball, though. I guess American Pie isn't coming back.

HELIONAUT - Your Harry S Truman quote was actually a Dwight Eisenhower quote, here it is in its entirety....jay
"When I was a small boy in Kansas, a friend of mine and I went fishing and as we sat there in the warmth of the summer afternoon on a river bank, we talked about what we wanted to do when we grew up. I told him that I wanted to be a real major league baseball player, a genuine professional like Honus Wagner. My friend said that he'd like to be President of the United States. Neither one of us got our wish"
