those who answered "5", let me ask you this:

Why is your collection as large as it is, then (and I know you have dozens and dozens, if not hundreds, of coins!), and not just 5 (or 2, or 1) coins?

"Would you rather have 5 Victoria Secret models, or 100 Lane Bryant models"

And for the record, I'd take the 100 Lane Bryant women!

Get the five superb gems now. Their prices should appreciate most steadily. Get the 100 lesser ones later, they should remain more affordable longer. Unless you've got 'album filling mania,' in which case, the only cure is to get the 100 lesser ones and also the 5 superb gems and come up with some rationalization why you won't be paying any bills this month, and maybe next.

You're going to get a large slant to the fewer coins because most collectors already have "100 lesser ones".
They've been there and done that. Now that they've looked through all the varieties and years and mint issues they may be
more willing to get just a few choice specimens.

Now that I have 50 nice mint state walkers I'm more likely to want 5 superb gems. But I would never choose the 5 gems until
after I've already owned the 50 (or 100) lesser ones.
