1970 Topps

I listed a 1970 Topps #607 Gary Waslewski PSA 8 on ebay twice with no sale. The second listing started at $5 with no takers. I only had a couple of cards in this year and I do not follow this year closely. I was surprised that I could not even give the card away, so to speak. Is the 1970 set that difficult to sell even PSA 8's in? Just curious...would love to hear from the experts on 1970 out there.

I would have been interested in it for $5 but you only ship to the US so it ruled me out as a potential buyer.

I had a 1970 #607 Waslewski PSA 8 close without bids starting at $6 on Tuesday and I DO ship Internationally.
Next thing yo'll say is that my $30 International Shipping is too high!!!
Don,
Of the auctions that I had close on Tuesday, there were only two sets where I had cards with no bids at $6 each and those were some high pop 1970 Topps and some 1972 OPC Baseball. The 70 isn't a super popular set and some cards have a pop that is really out of whack because of some vending and cut case runs made available over the last few years. The 72 OPC set is just not popular.

I said i would be intereted at $5, the $6 you wanted was way out of my price range.

the 70 set is such that once you satisfy a small group of nuts there is no other interest.
Isn't that a great memory??? I can still vividly remember going into the McCrorys at the nearby strip mall with my mom and going through the rack packs in 1972 with birthday money and piling a stack of 12 or 14 packs on the counter with all of the Mets and Superstars I could find.

It reminds me of some of my favorite memories collecting cards as a kid. I think that I will start a new thread on just that.

Guy here. If you get this post, please get back to me on the '69 OPC's, so I can get your order out. Thanks!
PS-- Sorry to all for the spam, but I accidentally erased Howard's email address. and don't know how else to get ahold of him. Sorry again!
I'm dabbling in '70 Topps.

I remember doing that too! I just found a few of the tougher 1st series cards like #2 and #3 (Segui and Chaney) Also JIm Ray and Carl Taylor. I will be sending them out Monday to PSA.

Best of Luck with those bargains.
Sooner or later you'll fid yourself with enough cards to start this set!
