What about gold Britannias? I want the ones with the great chariot scene on them. (Anyone know which year that is?)
    When in doubt, don't.

I love the 1997 set. Stork do you have the whole proof gold set? I only have the 1/4 ounce gold proof.

Luckily, yes I do have the set. I wanted a single one ounce proof, but the whole set was all I could find (I've never seen any of the one ounces by itself). Anyway, I stretched and went for it, and am very happy I did. It's such a gorgeous design.

I bought it from Chards, and they were very nice and helpful. Their shipping and handling is a bit pricey for overseas addresses, but they took my check from a US credit union and shipped to my APO address with my Japanese phone number. They held the check for 30 days, but I really can't blame them...I was just some wacko American on the phone trying to figure out if it was easier to send it to a US address or a Japanese one...not a very confidence inspiring phone call I'm sure!

I have the 1987 proof gold 1 ounce and have the other 3 designs proof gold 1 ounce on my want list. The 1997 proof gold 1 ounce is the last year you could get proof 1 ounce individually (boxed issue). For the other proof designs (2001 Britannia Una and 2003 Britannia bust), the gold 1 ounce proof were only sold as part of a 4 coin set. image At this point I am willing to settle for the 4 Britannia BU designs in 1 ounce size each, if I could only find one at a decent premium over spot. BRM has a 4 coin BU set (1 ounce each different designs) at a ridiculous premium. image

There were only 164 of the 1997 proof 1 ounce issuedimage

I got lucky finding a single 1/4 gold proof 1997.

For the reason Trozau pointed is why I collect the proof gold 1/4 ounce.
They are a little easier to buy individually.image
