Lincoln Sadler dropping and not deleted??

I thought the Sadler set was to be deleted and yet looking at the list today I see it has dropped to 16th place. I also note that he is dropping on the alltime list. I do think that is a software problem.

Who do I contact or how do we make sure that the Sadler set maintains its place in the all-time list?

If he is deleting the sold coins, this is what happens. You need to delete the entire set, and if it is over 90% complete it stays on the all time list (I think 90% is the completion to keep on the all time list)

That's what I thought but the set is dropping in the alltime list as coins are being deleted. I would have thought it would have remained at its "alltime high" not where it dropped off the list.

Reality is that most people who own these sets don't know how the computer is set up to handle it. BJ needs to "take over" and get the thing right.

I wanted to respond to this thread so that you all understand what is going on with sets like Sadler's. Gayle, Cosetta and I do not keep track of auction sales or individual sales. We simply do not have time. We rely on our members to either delete their sets after they have been sold or to at least notify us so that we can delete the set for them. Information about this process can be found in the RULES section of the Registry.

If we get mail requesting a coin be released, we first contact the owner for verification. If the owner does not respond, then we request proof of ownership from the person wishing to add the coin to his set. Once we receive proof of ownership, we can then remove it from the first set. If the set is still current, the coin is removed from both current and ATF. In the case of Sadler, we received no notification from the owner or his representative if that's the case. It was not until today that I was told by another member that Sadler's set(s?) had been sold at FUN. We are in the process of trying to verify this information. Once done, his set(s) will be removed from current status.

  • BJ,
But it sounds as if when a single coin is deleted if affects BOTH the current rating and the all-time rating. Shouldn't the all-time rating reflect the highest grade a particular set ever attained?

I screwed up and did that with my 20th Century Type Set of Circulation Coinage.

No, Pete. As long as a set is CURRENT, if you delete a coin it is removed from both current and atf. If you wish to retire your set because you are breaking it up and/or selling it, you MUST delete the entire set (not coin by coin, but the entire set) from current if you want it to stay intact in ATF.
