    Question #2

Why isn't the 1859 Large Cent listed under 'Canada' in the Charlton Catalogue?

    Don
  • The 1859 large cent is not listed under Canada because Canada did not become a country until 1867 (still part of the British Colonies in 1859).

Very good furtrapper. Are you from the Great White North?

  • I guess I had a little unfair advantage on this question. eh!

    I from Ottawa.

  • Welcome to the darkside, furtrapper image By the way, is that your profession? Just curious, because my grandfather's 2 brother-in-laws did that for a living.

I'm not Canadian, but love Canadian coins. Nice to have you with us image

  • One of the hockey teams I play for is The Furtrappers (not sure how we came up with the name). My occupation isn't that exciting.

So how does someone from Virginia become the Princess of the North and how did you get hooked on Canadian Coins?

    Ron
  • I became Princess of the North because of my love of Canada and Canadian coins. I first became interested in Canadian coins when I met a very lovely
person from New Brunswick online, who later became my best friend. When I visited Canada, I stopped at coinshops there, and found that I love the
designs and quality of the Canadian coins. By the way, I am originally from Pennsylvania (a little further north than Virginia), but the real reason I was
given the the Princess of the North title is what I stated in the first sentence image

What kinds of coins do you collect, Ron?

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Ajaan. image

  • You live in Virginia and collect Canadian coins; I live in Canada and collect mainly US coins.

I have a large Canadian collection given my access to Canadian coins and the Royal Canadian Mint (in Ottawa).

I also have a number of coins from other countries, however, I'm not sure if I would call it a collection (still searching).

    Ron
  • Ron, if there are any US coins in particular you are looking for, you can PM me. Maybe I can help you find something you need image Just give me a hollar
    either here or by PM.

Am looking forward to seeing your posts in the future image
