Notice to Type Set collectors... UPDATED INFORMATION...

I contacted BJ a while back to ask why the 1964 proof Kennedy didn't receive bonus points for CAM or DCAM in the 20th Century Circ/Proof Type Sets. David Hall has made the decission to award bonus points for the '64 CAM and DCAM Kennedy. In addition, bonus points will also be given to the 1965 - 1970 CAM and DCAM Silver Clad Kennedys.

If you have either of these sets and track your sets in a spread sheet, you'll want to make the necessary adjustments.

The '65 - '70 Silver Clad Kennedys in the 20th Century with Variations have not been given bonus points, per the bonuses and deductions page. I'm going to follow up with BJ on this. I assume it was an oversight.

I always thought that this was an oversight or mistake. Thanks for gettting it corrected. I do track my set (hanging at #10) using a spreadsheet and it has been updated.

BTW, congrats on that update of your barber dime, nice.

Now, if you can get them to add Greg's (Typetone) suggested "Basic Type
Set" that would be great.

BJ said the 1965 - 1970 Proof Kennedys in the 'With Variations Set' (may) be receiving the bonuses as well. She's going to let me know when she finds out. I'll pass on the information when I hear something.

From communications I've had with BJ, the new Type Sets were to be ready around year's end (2003). I assume with the holidays and coin shows, they've had their hands full. Shouldn't be too much longer. I'm looking forward to seeing the new type sets!

Both the 20th Century Type Set Major Types, No Gold (1900-1999) and 20th Century Type Set With Type Variations, No Gold (1900-1999) have been updated to include bonuses for the proof 1964 Kennedy CAM and DCAM and the proof 1965 - 1970 Kennedys CAM and DCAM.
