Is it legal to sell an EMPTY PSA slab?

Is it legal to sell an EMPTY PSA slab? I'm not thinking of doing it, but the thought just came to my mind. I would say that it IS legal. It's what you do with the empty slab that could get you in trouble. But that's just my opinion, and it's usually wrong in these types of cases, so I'd like the hear the opinions of others.

When I crack open a slab to resubmit a card, my empty slab turns into 2 halves, so i no longer have a solid slab remaining...jay
  • I have cracked open slabs (bottom of the slab) which gives me enough room to slide the card out. I could sell the slab intact without the card in it and some j@ck@$$ could slip in a card and sell it as graded. I'm sure other people have cracked open PSA slabs (one side of it at least) where you can remove the card or label and make some changes. (WIWAG ?!?!)

As for selling them...I don't think there would be a market for them....I did use the cracked PSA cases as protection when shipping cards out in bubble envelope.

I would have to say no. I wonder how one could write an ebay ad for this and get away with it.

"You are bidding on a PSA slab that labels for a 1957 Topps Yogi Berra PSA 7. The cert # on the label is 1234567. It is a great looking slab and would make a most welcome addition to any collection ..."

In that case, I guess you better ask for a scan
collecting various PSA and SGC cards

I can't see any reason why it would be illegal.
