Another 1864 IHC Thread - minor clashing
After reading a few posts on 1864's lately, and remembering about the post Russ started last fall Russ's thread, I thought I would finally try shooting mine.
It does not show anywhere near the clash details as any of the IHC's in that post, but it I still think it's cool.
Question for you guys/gals before the pics, Is there earlly and late die states for clash coins, for example would the first few coins show more detail of where the dies clashed, then gradually flatten out and or dimish? If so, is it possible that my coin could be a later (Much much later), coin struck from the same dies as either one of the two 1864 IHC's from Russ's post.
Well here is the pics, not the greatest but I'm still working on that
On the Obverse it appears to be a clash of the wreath just above the eye, and part of the C and O on the nose and chin. I'm not to sure about those two though opinions would be welcome. They seem to match up.

Here is a better picture showing the clash above the eye from part of the wreath

Here is the reverse, I only notice the clash going from the bottom of the wreath up through the C. I had originally thought this was a die crack. Also what I don't understand is why the N in ONE is so weak.

A differant angle to show the weak N and clash

Thanks all.
