Auction Sniper??!! problems!

Hey guys.

Just figured I would post a quick message to vent.

I have been trying to start up a 55 Topps AA Football PSA 7 set...picking up commons for 30ish a piece here and there.
Tonight there were 15 singles that went up for sale that I placed snipes on...using www.auctionsniper.com
It placed 1 bid...and I won it at 22.19!
It missed placing all the others...of which I would have won 8 more. (obviously if my bid was high enough...which I would just about guarantee it would have been!)

In turn...for not placing my bids. Auctionsniper.com gives me 2 free snipes for every missed bid.
That doesnt even cover the extra shipping I need to pay for my one single I won from this seller.
Quantity discounts on shipping would have been great on this one!!

I know this has been covered before...but are there any reliable snipe services out there that the board members recommend.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent.
The girlfriend thinks this is the best thing in the world that just happened...no cards = more money for clothes. image

Thanks, Brian
PS...anyone have any 55 Topps PSA 7 All-Americans for sale??

  • Hi Brian,

While it is a little more expensive,I use esnipe and have never had a problem. Auctionstealer is also an option although they did get hacked a while back and experienced some snipe failures.

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

I use esnipe and it has worked every time. No problems with it here.

I use justsnipe. They have failed me as has esnipe. Overall though, justsnipe has been more reliable. Additionally, it's $5/month for unlimited bids rather than the 1% that esnipe charges.
  • I use auctionsniper and I've never had a problem. However, I'm use it modestly and rarely, if ever, do mulit-items go up at the same time for me so I guess, if you're loading a lot of bullets, maybe auctionsniper can't handle it.

I've got to go along with Vargha...

I switched from eSnipe to Justsnipe because its A LOT cheaper - $5 per month compared to $100+ per month in my heavy bidding days. I've had snipe problems on both systems - the third time on eSnipe was the reason that I switched.

Just had a missed snipe last night with Justsnipe on a 72 Marichal PSA 9. Probably didn't matter though... EO won it and with my bid only $25 above what he won it for, I'm sure that his bid was WAY HIGHER than that.

So Eric - Justsnipe just saved you $25!!!!

  • I've been using various sniping programs, not the web services, for years and have had pretty good luck. A lot of it depends on the responsiveness of the programmer in getting updates out. I prefer these because they dial up from my computer and I don't have to give my ebay information out. Search ebay for snip* or something like that and check feedbacks for the various packages and you can get a feel for how the programs run. Currently using Bayside Sniper but haven't had it long enough to know how they are on updates.

    Bigkid,

I moved from eSnipe to Justsnipe because at the time... the people who were touting it on the boards "had never missed one with it" either. Plus, I like the unlimited snipes for $5 per month.

Every snipe system will eventually miss one or two. I'm just glad it wasn't on one of those do or die auctions that comes up once every 18 months!
