PSA Early Renewal Special 10% off dues?

Someone needs to figure the math. A 2 year Platinum Membership is normally $179 and now is $169 which is only about 5.9% off. A 1 year Gold Membership is normally $99 now $89 which is $10 off and slightly less than 10%.

So is it supposed to be $10 off?

$ 10.00 off from $179.00 is about 5.6% discount
$ 10.00 off from $ 99.00 is about 10.1% discount ( actually MORE than 10% )

And, if you consider that two consecutive years of the basic $99.00 fee would cost $ 198.00, then the $ 169.00 fee gives a discount of about 14.6%, for going to the two year membership.

Stated as a discount of ten bucks a membership may have had less confusion, perhaps.

Yeah it is slightly more, that's what I meant to say for the one year.

I got a flyer in the mail to renew my membership and the top says 10% off but at each membership scale it only shows up as $10 off. Just wondering which it is supposed to be.

I do not know if I will renew as I did not receive the SMR magazine for the months of December or January. I received November and I received February, but none in between. I called PSA four times to address the problem, gave an address three times and was told the magazine would be sent out. It never came and on the fourth call, I left a voicemail for a higher up that was never returned.

I can't get any help out of that place.

Is the February SMR the one with Shaq and Bill Russell on the cover? I saw that at the newstand two weeks ago, but still have not received mine. I called CU and the operator said they were specifically having problems with that issue but this is the fourth time this has happened since I joined a year and a half ago. I am not going to renew my membership unless they can assure me that I will receive credit for the SMRs that never made it.

I received that same offer back in November, except it was AFTER the expiration date. I called and they said it would still be good ($10 off of the $99).

If I remember correctly, you also receive more freebies with 2 1-year plans than you do with 1 2-year plan. Ill take it .

If your SMR is part of your membership, and customer service can't seem to help you out, ask for the membership department.
You will most likely talk with Lisette and she will do what she can to straighten the problem out.

Next, I have not heard of any specific problem in getting the Feb issue out. If customer service is getting a lot of calls, they are not informing us.
The March issue should be sent from the mailing house around the week of the 26th of Jan.

The SMR's are sent from Wisconsin to everyone at the same time and we can at least verify that your name was on the list given to the mailing house.

Ive been getting the offers of "See what youve been missing" even though I renewed. I bet i've recieved 3 since december. They are wasting postage on me trying to get me to rejoin even though I renewed several months before It expired the first time.

I got my Feb. SMR on Saturday, and I'm about 40 miles from PSA. I had already picked up a copy at PSA Saturday.
Since the next PSA Saturday will be at the Hollywood Park show, I think I and some of the other board members attending may get extra copies we can ship out to board members who are SMR deprived.

The SMRs are shipped from Wisconsin...so people in the MidWest usually will get the SMR before SoCal.

My renewal is pending regardless. I just need to know how much the check is going to be written for.

So Write your check for $89 bucks and
be glad for the More than 10% discount!

Why would you want to renew for 2 years
You get a better deal in terms of free gradings
and other goodies with TWO one year memberships?
(and apparently save a higher percentage with it...)

Plus your twice as likely to get the "renewal perks" that
PSA often offers (like the Free 2004 PSA Calendar!)

Hey I'm not upset. I was just looking for an answer to what I thought was a legitimate question. If you think I was beating a dead horse then I will apologize as I was just searching what what was correct. The reason why I usually do 2 years is because I am not active in collecting at all times and it is easier for me than having to renew each year.
