Goetz Eye Candy-Link Added

Picked this up at the FUN Show and it's going on the Bay of E tonight, (unless a darksider rescues it first) image Was issued on the baptism of Zeppelin aircraft L2127 and the 90th birthday of Count Von Zeppelin. Listed as K-408 and Kai-478. The toning on this medal is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Also comes with the original box. It didn't sell the first time around, so I kept it off for a month, then ran it again last week. This time it sold to a dealer in the Carolinas for $199.99. image

Is this the cast 65 mm or the 36 mm struck?

It looks to be the struck 36mm in silver to me. This is what the cast piece looks like:

Danglen, Besides placing this just in the ebay Germany classification you should get it in somewhere where the Zeppelin collectors will see it. They pay very big bucks for Zeppelin pieces. This piece should, if it has the correct exposure, sell for at least $400 but probably much more if authentic. I'll look back through some emails with a dealer friend where we were talking about this and get back to you. S

Just looked at past emails and it appears that the cast piece is the much more rare example of this opus with the struck AR fairly common. It may not bring as much as I had stated in the previous post but should still be placed in the aviation catagory if there is one and, of course, there is an added premium for it still being in it's box. I sent the images to the guy I mentioned and will post what he has to say when I get it but it'll probably be after DG places the medal on ebay. Good Luck!!

This is the struck 36 mm silver variety, and I'm starting it at $199.99. I also picked up several other Goetz Zeppelin pieces, but will list those one at a time in the coming weeks. Don't want to flood the Zeppelin or Goetz markets imageimage I'll post a link once the auction goes live tonight.
