1969 Lou Brock, will this 7?

I am testing adding images to a post. Hopefully the front and back of a 1969 Lou Brock will appear. To make the experiment worthwhile, I decided to show the Brock that I am thinking of sending in. Let me know if you think it will get a 7. Thanks.

edited to delete the pictures that weren't there anyway. Sorry!

  • RayB,

Thanks for letting me know. I am so frustrated with technology. When I open the thread, I can see the pictures! I have been working on this scanner for 3 hours (but it's my fault for losing the cd that came with it).
  • Okay, test #2.

Does this scan of John Olerud show up? (I use this card as a guide to trim bubblewrap for shipping.)

    Thanks.

  • Nope.

  • I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone because it shows up perfectly on my computer. This is the second scanner and I really thought I had it figured out. Time to start drinking.

All I am getting are pop-ups regarding some MSN propoganda. I don't think you can link pics from there.

    zodiac,

first off are you trying to add a picture to the text box? if thats the case you must have url for the picture just scanning to "my documents" is only good if you want have an attachment to the message.
you should have free web space so take the photo and upload it to the web probably via your home page?once you get your picture on the web right click and then copy the url. hit the reply button and then hit the green window box on the top bar of the message box paste url in the spacebar that pops up. and then type your message/ hope that helps.
if you just want to attach a file keep it in my docs and at the bottom of the message box hit attach files and it will bring you to my docs on your computer double click and it should go. just remember why you after you scan, crop your picture then hit image size and change the dpi to 72 or so and then export to your documents. that should be small enough to be able to use here. i know i am no road map but hopes it helps.

  • Jackstraw,

Thanks for the advice. I created a webpage this morning (an MSN my documents page). I copied the pictures there and then I copied the URLs to include in the text box of my post. I thought I was successful because I could see the pictures but then I found out that nobody else could so I deleted them.

Since then, I have been trying to attach the photos from my scanner but I haven't figured out how to resize them yet. I couldn't find the disc for the first scanner and now I can't find the manul for the second scanner.

I'm sorry to everyone for wasting time and space.

edited to add that I resized the pictures to 72 per inch and then 72 per centimeter and they are still too large.

You can download the program www.irfanview.com for free. Its about the easiest photo / scanning editor program you'll ever use for resizing pictures (by inches or pixels), attaching pictures to one another (create panorama images), cropping, etc.

    Try it...its free!

    zodiac,
after the scan and crop just hit image size. you will then draw up a box to resize it just change the resolution size to 72 from 150% and then save it in your docs. that should bring you under the 100k that psa allows here.

  • zodiac,
I tried to use MSN groups to host some pictures on ebay, it didn't work. I have a feeling the MSN won't allow you to host pictures from their site. Maybe someone else has had better luck but I've never been able to get it to work from MSN
  • Jackstraw,

Thanks for taking the time to help me. I'm sure your advice was good unfortunately my abilities are not.

    Treetop,

Thank you very much. The program you recommended seems to have worked although it's obvious that I will need to experiment more.

The scans are now attached to the first post in this thread.

  • It looks similar to the '69 Brock I recently bought from RayBshotz, the one I have is a PSA 6. The centering seems almost the same.

This card look like it will get an "OC" qualifier. It does look nice and clean, though.

I'd say 7(OC) or a straight 5 or 6 depending on the centering measurement. Definitely too OC for a straight 7.
