Nice coin, Newbie! Looks uncirculated too. They made a whole series of such coins with different kings, and the denomination even changed as inflation hit the sky, and regimes changed in 1989.

Thanks for the comments. I could not get a photo to show the true reflection of the copper-nickle coin and the VERY high relief on the image.

This particular coin is not rare or hard to find, but it has a very high relief (if I am saying that right) compared to most cu-nickle coins I have seen. Very good details all over the Kings image.

LOL..at myself...... I guess you can tell i like it and it impressed me.

I like the very personal details of the kings (in all these coins), especially the expressions they carry! You can almost imagine what they're thinking.

In hand the detail around the "bags-under-the eyes" and the detail of the beard is very good.

Thanks Tom, I think most of these are well struck. If I could have gotten the actual "color" of the coin, brightness I mean, then you might be able to see the high relief and detail.
Of course, I didn't...did I........

That's one I don't have. I just looked in my Poland albumn (which is rather full at the minute) and doscovered that you found my missing coin.

But seriously, I do have a 1981 Poland 50 Zlotych, but it has a different face on it. I believe it says, Wladyslaw I Herman.

30.5 mm (my measurement) I am not sure what Krause says.

and as for Krause you are right, he doesn't tell it, but he shows it (most of coins) in it real size, so we can also only measure it
