Coin show or dealers in MA

Hi all,
Does anyone know of any coin shows in Eastern Massachusetts or
some dealers they can reccomend.

Joe

I don't know any serious coin collectors and could use some guidance.
Also where can one pick up this 'RED BOOK' I see mentioned in the forum.

The Red Book is officially called "A Guide Book of US Coins" by R.S. Yeoman, edited by Ken Bressett. You won't have any trouble finding it at any Borders, Barnes & Noble or similarly-sized bookstore. It comes in both a regular hardcover and spiral bound, both of which have red covers - get whichever you find more convenient. About $15. It's issued every year.

It's loaded with information, but don't rely too much on the prices except as a general guide. A once-a-year book can't be current on pricing.

There has to be some decent-sized coin shows in Boston. JJ Teaparty is a well-regarded Boston dealer that comes to mind - you could ask them about shows in that area. They are on Bromfield Street. In fact, you might see if they sell Red Books and that would give you an reason to stop by and introduce yourself.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

The Semi-Annual Bay State Coin Show occurs twice a year at the Radison on Stuart Street (I think) in downtown Boston. I'm not sure when the next show is scheduled, but it's a show I've attended three times.

Teaparty and Northeast are good to deal with.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

Depending on where you are in Eastern Ma., there is the Nashua N.H. show tomorrow, The Westford/Chelmsford show next Sunday. The Dedham show the first Sunday of every month, and there is usually an Auburn (Worcester) show the second Sunday. Plenty of shows, and if that isn't enough, there is the Bay State show semi-annually (as mentioned above), The N.E Coin Expo in the fall, and the N.H. Coin Expo in the late summer early autumn.
Plenty of good dealers in the area. I just started setting up at the Westford show which has 80+ tables there each month. The only smallish show out of that group is the Dedham show (35 tables or so).
