How to tone Japanese silver

Interesting, but to me its exonumia, as I wouldn't put coins worth $40 and up - way up in some instances - in there! imageBesides, it won't hold all the early yens including several gold ones and some varieties in the silver.image

    It's kinda cool though.

I agree, and I might have bid ten bucks or so if I had seen it in time, but . . .*

*My dear departed grandmother (the one from Poland) used to point out that "If wishes were horses, beggers would ride". image

I don't think the other grandmother was drawing on her Russian roots when she would respond to an "If only . . ." by saying "If your grandfather had wheels he would be a streetcar".image

The lightly-toned Japanese silver one yen coins I've bought have a pinkish toning to them. Has anyone else encountered this?

I like it. Why wouldn't you place higher value items inside it? I don't understand. It looks like a very neat way to display these yens, very safe and from what I understand it's an unusual album.

That is really neat looking, but I don't think I'd ever be able to fill it up, and those empty spots would drive me nuts...my latent obsessive-compulsive traits coming out I suppose. Cool auction though!
