Online price guide? Especially Canadian...

Hi all,

Does anyone know of an online price guide for Canadian coins? I'm looking for something like E Coin Prices has for US coins. I can't seem to find anything at the PCGS site either.

Oh, and yes, this is my very first post in the darkside forum. I thinking of branching out. US coins are so darn expensive. I'm looking at stuff on ebay, and a beat up, worn, horrible 1925 SLQ is still $5. You can practically pick up mint state Canadian, Swiss Franc, etc. with some really nice designs, close to MS for this kind of money.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
David

  • no online price guides are available. The best reference is the Canadian Coin News, unless you are looking for ultra high grade coins, in which case the best reference is the Cornwell Report
  • Welcome JxnBoy!!!! Here is a Canadian site that will give you an idea of what Canadian coins sell for although it's not a "price guide" Their prices are representative. Hang around and see what a wonderful variety of coins are available in the "world"

  • A little out of date but in the ballpark for most (in $ cad)

You can also try J & M's website. The link to the catalog is in the upper left corner.

  • Thanks! That's exactly what I'm looking for. I don't need exact figs, I just want to be in the ballpark.

As you may see from my avitar, I like SLQ's. I don't know, but something about the size of quarters, and the fact that they're the workhorse of coinage, makes me partial to these pieces. I also like (as I mentioned above) Swiss 1 Franc pieces. I love the design, and they're about the size of a quarter, too.

Thanks again. Those sites provide some good info. I hope to see everyone more often over here on the darkside.
