FUN was fun - Bought a nice toned Morgan

I was at FUN all week - Had a great time - (I'll try & do a summary of my impressions - but no time right now) Decided to buy coins other than FEs, IHCs and coppers, so I bought the attached Morgan Dollar - has a "little" bit color - but its not the nicest one I bought - that one's in for grading - (It's a godizilla image)

I'm new at this digital camera stuff, so I'll try & post a couple of pictures - (the coin is much nicer than the pictures!)

Bought this coin from JB Stevens - a great guy to deal with!

Nope - just the reverse is toned. The image above is a bit dark, but shows the color saturation on the coin - the colors are actually much more intense- from left to right there are rainbow bands of color: Emerald Green, Blue-Violet which changes to Reddish-Orange, Orange, Yellow, then Ice Blue and then Salmon - the reverse is very PL, which intensifies the colors as it is rotated in the light. I think I'll look for it's mate with an obverse toned similar to the reverse - I also bought a pair of end roll toned coins, 1 is Obverse & the 2nd is reverse - the toning is very similar, so they're "Bookends" The toning on those 2 are more pastel.

    These things are addictive -

RickKay - Is that what Jason uses to tone those babies? - How does it work? Put the coin in at one end, plug it in and out comes a toned coin? Or does it "duplicate" patterns? - image

He uses it to color the coins, then I use what's left for duplication.
  • image My image disappeared - anybody know why it would vanish from my post?

  • Relax Ron, it's still there.
    That's what I'd call a True Rainbow !
  • Another picture of my Toned Morgan - the 1st image above is a bit dark, but shows the color saturation on the coin - the colors are actually much more intense- from left to right there are rainbow bands of color: Emerald Green, Blue-Violet which changes to Reddish-Orange, Orange, Yellow, then Ice Blue and then Salmon - the reverse is very PL, which intensifies the colors as it is rotated in the light -

This 2nd picture shows the colors better, but neither picture looks as good as the coin.

  • I see Rick has been doubling up on his medication since the FUN show! image

Ron: Your pics are not showing. The coin you bought from me is a nice piece however the other one you bought is in the top class of toners and anyone that sees it would recognize that! Nice purchases

Here is another pic of the toner Rick posted

Is the local chapter located at your office and are there toned coins there when you meet? I may have to move to Houston! image

Dog - listen up - I was lucky to figure out how to upload the darn thing onto the yahoo site - we didn't even have color TV when I was a kid, far less computers! - My children have left home & I don't have anyone to show me how to do this computer stuff - image

BTW the pics show up on my screen - maybe your phone lines broke image

Newmismatist listen up. You see the pictures because the cookies on your harddrive recognize you as able to acess that account. Unless you have a paid account with Yahoo they don't let you link pictures if you only have a free personal account.
